FISH is a piece that originally started life in WebSheaf a CD-ROM edition of Sheaf (Sheffield Hallam University's undergraduate creative writing magazine) that I designed for my MA Writing professional project in 1996.
It's an experimental environment for a haiku. This particular haiku (senryu?) came about as a result of one of those 'Magic Eye' images where all you can see normally is a two-dimensional pattern, but when you go cross-eyed at the page, a magical depth of field suddenly occurs and you can see 'into' the image for miles!
As it's an 'abstract' haiku an experimental form used in modern haiku writing the idea is to evoke suspension of belief, dreaminess, fantasy. There's also all sorts of underlying nonsense to do with Zen masters and and the short memory span of fish, but you don't want to know about all that.
It's not an interactive piece just let it wash over you. It's about 80 seconds long.
